![]() ![]() The space was beautiful and relaxing, but I honestly felt like a hostage at times due to the leader not wanting us to go visit the nearby town, and then being treated like a naughty teenager who broke curfew upon return. The vegetarian meals I expected, but it seemed that in the leaders' attempt to push their belief that "a little discomfort" was necessary, the food provided was not sufficient to sustain participants to go hours and hours without the nutrition they needed. I think the yoga was good, but some of the other classes involved a woman who seemed to discourage young women from using birth control. Unfortunately, the time in between was expected to be spent in poorly organized, cult-like activities that I found to be uncomfortable and not really helpful. "My primary (and only) purpose for attending this retreat was to try Ayahuascha to hopefully get the enlightenment and answers I was seeking. The entire facility grounds are beautiful and peaceful, perfect for grounding and renewing of self. Overall the most beneficial experience to date. JP has a very calming effect in and out of ceremonies, and is very informative.Įvetta is extremely helpful in and out of ceremony, a true protector, amazing meals. If you are truly looking to heal and you are called book a retreat at Sowilo without hesitation. This retreat is not to be taken lightly, you will unload a tremendous amount of trauma, guilt, anxiety, fear, and anything else that does not serve you. I feel a profound strength and connection to everyone and everything around me that truly increased my ability to provide service, create and hold a healing environment with confidence, strength and love.īy the fourth day I felt like a new man, burden free and ready to serve. Purification through a vegan diet, breathe work, and forgiveness of self, are extremely important before serving others. "I booked the Practitioner Training Course,…the first week was cleansing, forgiveness and trusting in the medicines of Kambo, and Bufo. I would absolutely recommend Aya de la Vid to anyone, and I'm sure we will meet Tony again on another of his retreats! Aho!" In addition to all the immeasurable benefits that come from working with these medicines, we learned a lot about the local culture and history. I also appreciated the small group size-another commitment Tony makes to ensure everyone has the experience they deserve! We always felt safe as we sat in ceremony. The accommodations were comfortable and beautiful, the food was lovingly made, and Arturo and his team were brilliant facilitators. We had initially planned to have our first experience with the medicine in Peru, but life had other plans, and it all still worked out perfectly, because our time at Xochipilli with Aya de la Vid was excellent. It was clear from the first phone call we had with him that Tony is incredibly passionate about helping others connect with plant medicine. "We booked our trip to Xochipilli in Cancun about 3 weeks before the retreat began, and I was instantly impressed by Tony's responsiveness and up-front communication. If you are hurting, hurting others, angry, lost or just can’t seem to find your way to feeling whole, get here! Find a way! You deserve it ❤️" While I know these blessings will last a lifetime, I will be back again to continue this journey with the gentle and loving guidance that this amazing place and this beautiful family have to offer. I am living in love, in peace, in forgiveness, in gratitude and in The Light. I laugh at the thought now because my life has changed completely! I feel like I am, for the very first time, truly living. I arrived hoping my anxiety would be helped, even if just a little. The amount of love, respect and gratitude I have for Gabriel and Ayme, the rest of the beautiful people I met here and the experiences I had and continue to have are immeasurable. The amount of healing I received and have continued to receive since arriving and leaving Sowilo are nothing short of miraculous. I was not a particularly spiritual person and would have previously swore I did not believe in miracles. I have taken Xanax for anxiety for 27 years and have spent countless hours and money in therapy for PTSD throughout my life. I had no experience with these medicines so I did a lot of research, none of which could have possibly prepared me for what was to come. Something kept bringing me back, a true calling that I couldn’t ignore. "In search of a women’s health retreat to get away for a little yoga and relaxation I somehow stumbled upon Sowilo. ![]()
